Depends on how much you use them and other various conditions. I’d say a bit longer, like 2-2.5ish before you really start noticing a huge drop in battery life.

What are the chances of finding a battery for the TR in 2.5 years?

I found batteries for my Acer 5 years after they discontinued the model.
I snatched up 11 batteries at $5 each off of ebay.

not too bad.  i bought a replacement f505 battery 3 years after i bought it

what’re the chances that you’ll still be using your TR in 2.5 years? 

Quite a big chance for me actually. I dont intend to sell my TR off anytime soon. Ill be buying another machine soon but ill definately keep this one coz its such a masterpiece. In 2.5 years time, infact way earlier than that, we’ll be seeing the advent of faster ULV processors and so upgradation will be possible. Besides TR will always be a hard one to beat in terms of portability. So you always have that with the TR.
