She is the vice principal of the London School of Clinical Hynosis and these CDs are very good and her very British accent should be entertaining. I trained at this school and can vouch for them not intentionally scrambling your brain. Worth a try and self-hypnosis is skill you’ll have for life.

Isn’t self-hypnosis.. or rather, any kind of hypnosis… simply a state of subconsious relaxation… u let the subconscious control ur conscious mind since the subconscious is… ok… conputer analogy…:
Conscious mind is like the Pentium M with 1-2MB of L2 cache RAM
Sub-Conscious is like the Intel Itanium with 8MB L3 and 4-8GB RAM which can hold WAY more and process even more of it. But the Itanium takes up a lot more wattage so the body would rather use the Pentium M and run longer than drain your system with the Itanium…

Hypnoidal states are pretty common without any outside help or intervention. The state you enter when admiring your latest Sony purchase to the exclusion of everything else is a trance of sorts. So are day-dreaming and those interesting moments between sleep/waking and vice-versa.
Formal hypnosis and self-hypnosis only help you to recreate those states in a more controllable way. They can also help you to go into a much deeper trance and this is well worth experiencing. Meditation, chanting, Autogenics etc all bring you to a similar end point but may take more effort from the individual than a trip to a hypnotist or listening to a CD.
Of course I’m only talking about relaxation here and not about any therapy that might be applied whilst you’re in an hypnotic state. Self-hypnosis for relaxation is easy, safe and pleasant.
Make sure you visit a properly qualified and experienced hypnotist and if you don’t like them just walk away whatever the reason for your visit.
