And yes, my T1 will get some loving from this card. I kept holding off on my 512MB Duo purchase in the hopes that a 1GB version would be available.

I’m looking forward to recording longer video clips with this, now to figure out what to do with all those 256 and 512 sticks I have laying around…  :ph34r:

As for the T1’s movie quality, I had to take a step back when I got the F88. It doesn’t have such high quality movies. Will Sony be implementing that T1 movie quality in their future cameras?

It’s in a lot of the new cameras. My F828 has it. With a 4GB Microdrive I get one hour of 640x480 @ 30fps movies. They are simply awesome especially for those times when I know a photo won’t capture the moment.

Well then, it’s a pity they put it into most of the new cameras but not the F88… bummer for me.

Is there any way to compress those movies so that they don’t take up so much space on my HD? Are they MPEG1 or MPEG2? Maybe I could DivX them or something?

Do you mean the camera’s internal recording program? I have no idea how that works…

Anybody have a good idea for an ideal conversion format?

i just use windows movie maker. 

you can use divx, xvid and a few others, but i find windows movie maker the easiest to use.
