The remote isn’t in English…I think its the same remote they use for their W series so I might call up sony to get an English one.
The device has a port for:
1. USB
2. Coax
3. A/C Power
4. RCA In
5. RCA Out
6. S-Video In
7. S-Video Out
I used the CD provided by Icube which contained 2 GigaPocket install files and the MPEG encoder as well as one more program.
The highest version GigaPocket seems corrupt because I cannot open it. I moved on to the next version which installed fine. I then installed the MPEG encoder. The other program was installed when GigaPocket installed.
I plug in the unit and it asks for a driver. I stick in the Sony disc and it installs the driver. So far so good.
I launch the app and I get an error about not finding the sony advanced decoder (or something to that effect) then another one pops up saying I am using the decoder with another app and close that app first.
I’ve tried everything from installing and un-installing maybe 10 times. I tried to use the Sony disc alone but GigaPocket wont install…it gives me some sort of Japanese box and exits. The other folder on the CD launches a bios update…umm..no.
I am going to call Icube for support tomorrow, hopefully I can get this thing working. It looks so cool!
If you manage to successfully install the Gigapocket software then you might be able to use the Sony Roomlink with your TR. Then you can view all of your recorded material, jpgs, and audio on your TV and entertainment center!

One step at a time…i’m trying to watch tv on my vaio…lol
I e-mailed Icube and explained my issues and said i was going to call today. I got 2 e-mails back overnight. The first saying I can call them or they can call me (so I don’t pay for the call). WOW great service.
The second e-mail they said they were testing out the apps they gave and its not currupted, it wont install on a TR. I can’t believe how quickly they went into action to try and solve my issue.
Now, we just need to work together to install the Jap. Version that came with it…I will be fine with the Jap. Version because it’s really not that difficult to figure out {i hope}.
I’ll keep everyone updated, but right now all I can say is I am very impressed with the level of service from Icube!
Ok. I first tried the English download…I got it to install but I couldn’t get the jog dial to work. I put in the Jap. one that came with the remote, and viola!
Ok so some of the text is in Jap, but 99% of it is in English or at least in both.
The LCD scrolls whatever menu your on plus the name of the application your using. Right now I was using windows Media.
I am able to:
Play
Stop
Forward
Reverse
Skip Song Forward
Skip Song Reverse
Pause
Then, I have a whole other set of menus. These include a file folder browser (it basically opens up my computer) as well as a desktop background image changer, and other various functions that are way beyond expectations.
The sound coming out of the USB remote was wonderful. I am using a set of Sony MDR CD30 headphones.
The remote is a bit chunky but the LCD is clear and makes up for its size. I love how the LCD scrolls the name of the application you using. The LCD menu changes all the time.
There are many customizable settings from the look and feel of the onscreen menu {i’ll talk about that in a second} to how long the remote LCD stays on before you want the display to shut {to conserve batteries}.
Along with the LCD menu, a small window pops up in the right hand corner of the screen and emulates the LCD display. I know the pics are a bit fuzzy, sorry. I guess its great if you don’t want to look at the remote.
Overall, I have to say it’s the best $45 i’ve spent so far. Not only does it control the music {really all I wanted} but it has a ton of extra features that might be usefull to you. As I said the sound is great, setup with the original disc was a sinch and even though I cannot read Jap. I have no problems because it’s 99% in english.
Erik, you are killin’ me. It’s good to know I’m not the only technophile that has to have all the latest and greatest with all the accessories. Good luck with the installs.

Thanks.
An update on the TV tuner does not look good. Apparently as far as we can tell the Jap. Version will not install on a US notebook. The error that I am getting in Jap. says “the PC is not available to operate with the program, please check the list of available PC series.”
I am going to still work on this tonight, Icube offered a refund so if I can’t get it to work, back it goes

Does this product acts like an external soundcard, too? can u adjust volume from that thing
No, its not an external soundcard by any means but you can use it to adjust the volume…you can even adjust the megabase settings.
