I have DSL through MSN, and was surprised when my mail storage limit was increased from 250 megs to 2GB this week. You can also send 20MB attachments, not bad at all!
i think he means hotmail is so much more popular.. so by getting 250mb people may lose their resons to leave hotmail for gmail. Moreover hotmail has MSN and gmail only works on invitations ( i mean for now).
But just like you i like g mail much better than hotmail..

I agree we’ll have to wait till gmail goes public before we can draw a “most popular” comparison.
I was really excited when I first heard about the Hotmail upgrades a few months ago in June. For a couple of months I had been thinking of switching, since 2 MB really is a joke! An upgrade to 250 MB would suit me fine, however. So I thought I’d leave the hassle of changing all my business cards and stuff to my gmail address.
But it’s mid-November and I’m still waiting for my limit to exceed 2 MB! I have had my account for 6 years already, but I guess it’s due to the fact that it’s not a “US registered” account.
Erik, what was the problem with Outlook blocking certain accounts?

They made the announcment a few months back that they are no longer supporting POP3 type access via Outlook and OE if your on a free account and that they were working to stop accounts that have it now. My account is years old so it shouldn’t have been hit for another few months, but for some reason it did. So I paid the $20/yr fee and now it works fine, also, the speed of the e-mail is 10x faster then it was before when I wasn’t paying. I have 6 or so other hotmail accounts that still work fine with OE and they’re free…so I guess it was just my luck on the other one that it was disabled so quickly.

I have the same problem with having my msn account for over 5 years…I hate only having 2 MB of storage…

How come mine is still 2mb?... Are they doing this gradually or have they already implemented this 250mb server wide already.
2mb sucks big time dude… Gotta keep deleting my stuff to keep myself within the quota. For now, I am using Yahoo mail which gives me 98mb more than hotmail.
I recall having read somewhere that the upgrades for non US-based accounts was tgo start in November. Of course, I have no clue who gets priority or how long that will actually take after their having started! Meanwhile, I wait…
