Question for all you who know Japanese… why do japanese keyboards only have some kanji? I realize that they can’t fit all 10,000+ on a keyboard  or even the most used to 2000 but why just ones like naka, yama, ookii, and tsuki (my cat’s name  )... just wondering…
btw.. If there’s anyone interested in trying to get at least an elementary understanding of the kanji and a full understanding of the hiragana and katakana you can use this really simple game which has, in three days, helped me to memorize all the hiragana and katakana and about 60 kanji… it is a very simple game set up like Zelda with a splash of PokeMon ( ) but it is very helpful in learning 200-1000 kanji and the other kana… I plan on at least learning how to read Japanese here and learn to speak when I go to Japan… so this is a REALLY helpful program and its FREE!
