Ok this is the scenario,
2 macs
2 pcs
1 USR ADSL router with 4 ethernet connections
1 Netgear Wireless transmitter/reciever
So 2 pc’s and 1 mac get the internet directly from the ADSL router, the last connection from the ADSL router goes to the Netgear wireless box, which sends the internet to paying customers in my bar.
My problem is I have 1 mac I still want to have on the internet, how can I do this without a wireless connection (they always drop out).
I have a spare 4 port hub and a spare network card.
Could I:
a) put another hub on to one of the ethernet connections coming out of the USR ADSL router, and effectively have room for another 3 connections (kinda like putting a power board on a powerboard)?
b) put another network card into a desktop and have a crossover cable connecting the mac?
c) you tell me…...
I hope this makes sense, would “a” or “b” work? Or do I have to buy an 8 point ADSL router?
