Utah’s a funny place, good Mormons don’t drink so it ranks last in adult alcohol consumption by State. That still amounts to 1.6 gallons per adult vs. the national average of 2.5. Roughly 25% vote Democratic and most attempts to legislate morality get squashed by public outcry or the courts. Sadly some things slip by and that much touted Christian love and tolerance seems to apply best to good lock-step Christians.

In counterpoint, neigboring Nevada comes in second with 4.5, but residents there do get a lot of outside help from Utah.

FWIW, unranked Washington DC consumes 4.3 gallons per adult whcch may account for many things.

[SHOW OF HANDS] Who here is offended by this post and the obvious jokes that everyone is making?

This really has nothing to do with religion at all…if that’s where you’re leaning. If a man knowingly jumps into a lion’s den and provokes an animal then he deserves what’s coming to him. Erik obviously got my joke about the pee pee. It’s the whole Darwin Awards thing. [EDIT] Doh, Low Bat beat me to it. Not sure how I missed that.

And even though babahi made a very stereotypical comment about people who happen to be in Utah…dbs rolled with it. It’s all good-natured jabbing.

The story has nothing to do with religion. dbs’s comment does. I admit any guy that jumps into a lion’s den is an idiot but the fact that he connected that so rudely with christianity was in fact rude and offensive. I already knew of the Darwin Awards… funny.
