This forum has always been something very relaxing because people have an open mind and that never seems to change with whatever we talk about here .... SO LETS JUST KEEP IT THAT WAY YEH !!!!!!
I could be mistaken, but I think all Butter Fingers was refering to is the long history England and France have of beating each other over the head. From the American standpoint they’re romantic or tragic tales brought to us by Shakespeare and Dumas. For the French and English they’re integral to the cultures, sort of like the American Revolution and those damn Redcoats.
Compared to a few hundred years of assasinations and ursurped thrones, an inanity like “freedom fries” is just a minor irritation.
I went to bed and missed the excitement. dbs hit the nail on the head, thanks for the intervention.
No offence meant. I’m not ‘pissed off’. Rivalry between France and England is a minor hobby for both nations and we’ve been doing it for 1,000 years. Sometimes we kill each other other but mostly it’s done in good humour. America has a relatively short history with France and historically it’s been mutually supportive. I should have quoted gr00vy0ne to give my comments some context.
Take a few deep breaths and let the anger float away.
Oh, that? Well, I’m french and not angry at all. Sometimes you have to poke our english friends a bit, but friendly. They’ll do the same. After that, we all gonna go drink some beer and have fun.

Easy as that.
Entente cordiale in action, vive la France. FrodoID I’d be happy to drink some warm English beer with you, or some bière or even some bier.
