Ok, your post piqued my interest so i installed a trial version of GoToMyPC on my computers to test it out.
Here’s what I’ve seen…
GoToMyPC will only show you the native resolution of the remote computer you are controlling so, if I’m using 1024x768 on the remote system then it won’t be full screen when i look at it on my 1280x768 screen. Also, if i’m using a higher resolution on my desktop like 1600x1024 then on my TR I can choose to see the full resolution (forcing me to scroll or I can choose scale-to-fit or a percentage to force it to maximize the screen). Even though 1600x1024 is widescreen it still doesn’t fill up my TR’s screen because the difference in aspect ratio (16:9 versus 16:10). So, it’s definitely a limitation of the software…but it’s still nifty software nonetheless. Perhaps the next version will have resolution independence.
Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Control software is the only one I’ve seen where you can manually set the resolution you want to use regardless of whatever the remote system is using.
