[quote author=“writetovarun”]why ? havent you ever been to the UK ?
Even those of us Yanks who have been to the UK for extended periods of time (I lived in Ireland for a while, not the same thing(!), but I watched plenty of the Beeb) find new and interesting words and phrases when talking to people from the UK. I’m still wondering if “squiffy” and “whinge” are real words.
Remember that we don’t get the same cultural effluvia from you via movies and TV that you do from us.
Whinge is moaning or crying .. sort of like a “cry baby”. Squiffy is a word for upset stomach, as in squiffy tummy. Beeb is ofcourse bbc. Squiffy and whinge both are real words, beeb isnt ofcourse.
Yes its true british movies have definately lost their glory, its a travesty to see something go loose with such talented stars. I have stayed in scotland, thou most people would disagree i found it pretty much just an extension of the UK sans the london slang which i’ll miss wherever i go.
I think the turkey is pretty cool and deserves attention. American indians taught white men how to hunt turkeys. My dearest friends in the US told me that story, which I believe is true. So, a turkey should be considered a damn good symbol for the vanishing of hunger worldwide.
[quote author=“writetovarun”]What on earth is that yellow thing right next to the title SONY TR WORLD ? I think it has replaced the skeletons playing around with gadgets which i thought were pretty cool. Groovy, is this our new mascot now ?

We Brits always have roast beef, cabbage and potatoes on a Sunday. On a Monday we take whatever is left and squash it into a frying pan with hot butter and cook it until it’s nice and brown. Tastes good and it’s cheap.
