Actually… no, not at all.

I didn’t upgrade anything. The TR5MP always has Bluetooth, WLAN a/b/g and DVD-RW. It’s the only model sold in Europe.

The price for both the T1XP/L and the TR5MP, both with exactly the same configuration (1,1GHz, 512MB RAM, WLAN a/b/g, Bluetooth, DVD-RW) is 2200EUR.

Except that the TR series doesn’t exist anymore, so if you find one in a store, it is bound to be sold cheaper. That makes the T series even more expensive.

But in my special case, I don’t want to say how much I paid for my TR5MP right now. But, believe me, it was much, much more cheaper than buying a T-Series (or a TR5MP under normal circumstances).

Your situation might be unique, but in the states, even forgetting the BT, you (customer) paid more for a TR5 then a similar T.

Ah, now I understand. I didn’t know Sony made the models so much different, but now it makes sense.

Yes, it’s curious information…I guess we’ll wait and see. I think my prediction of a possible TR using the next-gen Centrino chipset might be coming true. Fingers crossed…hmm…what am i going to do with another notebook?  :wink:

I thought it peculiar; they were hitting the TR ads so heavy a few months ago and then the TR completely disappears from SonyStyle. Meanwhile they float out the T. Hard to imagine they’d introduce a new model without maintaining continuity. Those inscrutable orientlals just keep us guessing…
