[quote author=“writetovarun”][quote author=“CJMPower”]Wow, perfect thread. I’ve been wondering about this, but too stupid to ask. Mine are starting to annoy my wrist. I took off the one that was on the left that stated the features…it’s now on my mirror…don’t ask. But the “Designed for Windows XP” is coming up on the edges and driving my right wrist insane! So groovy, you placed yours in the battery bay…interesting.. I might have to do that. I don’t wanna get rid of the stickers because their shiny…i’m naturally attracted to shiny things.
Yes i know what you mean. I just got all my sticks off. They made my lappy look new, everytime i saw them on it. But have to go with the flow. Infact i still have the sticks on my old toshiba on. It makes it look ugly coz they are craving for somebody to remove them off.
Know that feeling all to well my fujitsu begs for the same thing…people laugh when they see I use a laptop that has a sticker that says Intel Pentium 1, MMX Technology. I’ve actually had someone ask if it’s real. LOL. Anywho, did you all remove the stickers off the bottom of the puter too? Mine are starting to come up on the ends, including my Windows Home Product key (yes, I did upgrade to winxp pro, but that’s no excuse to ignore a cool sticker). By the way is there a way to upgrade the model number sticker….you know the sticker in the upper left that screams at me (PCG-TR3A)...I wanna update it to say something like PCG-TR3AP2, I did all the installs to make it one.
UPDATE, 15 minutes later…
I removed the problem stickers…which strangely enough were the “designed for windows xp” sticker and the “windows product key”. I replaced them both into the battery bay. The product key was a bit huge so it covers a clip access point. By the way the product key was starting to get worn…make sure you write that code down if you ever have to reinstall xp home or whatever your machine comes with. I may have xp pro, but if I need to recover it will go back to xp home and i’ll be up a creek without a paddle. Look out for the product key it acts strangely when being pulled off and will likely rip in multiple locations. Uninstall of two stickers took roughly 3 minutes…and reinstall took around 2 minutes. Perfect five minute install for those of us that hate those windows stickers. I ended up getting rid of the sticky parts left on the case by rubbing my fingers over it in a circular motion.
