This is my first post, but I have been lurking for a few months. I love this forum.

I got a TR2AP3 in November, and in the past week, my full charge capacity has been dropping somewhat quickly. It’s now at 47.05

Is there anyway to increase the charge capacity back to the original capacity? Is there anyway to keep the charge capacity from decreasing? I no longer do deep discharges (after seeing cellery’s post), and I don’t keep the AC plugged in after the battery has reached full charge.

Thanks for any suggestions.

First off, welcome to the board! Unfortunately, the capacity will decrease throughout the lifetime of the battery as the chemical composition inside changes. My TR2’s maximum charge capacity has dropped to 46.86Wh after about three months, with a design capacity of 47.73Wh. It’s not too bad though, as it’ll be about a year before the battery loses 10% of its capacity. As battery technologies improve, the rate of deterioration will continue to slow, but the batteries definitely have a finite lifespan.

In the meantime, you can treat your battery well by not deep discharging it and removing it from the computer when you’re using AC power for an extended period of time, which will help to prolong the battery’s life.

my battery has dropped to 47.68Wh after only 18 charge cycles (about three weeks of use). :( this sucks.
