My Music Clip and NW-E3 are crying over the bogus “mp3 support” they have. As soon as they release a native flash mp3 player in a small form factor, I’m there. Even an iPod mini is too much to carry around sometimes, especially at the gym.
[quote author=“tifosiv122”]I don’t know why they didn’t make these expandable with MS-Duo cards….
Myself, I’ve never understood why Playstations can’t use Memory Sticks. There’s a huge market if I ever saw one. It would probably push MSs to a critical mass where other companies would start licensing the form factor.

Because, for once, they want full backwards compatability with PS-One devices. I think it’s time for them to drop PS-One support…does anyone still play PS-One games?!?

+1
Sony could have made a killing and claimed a larger part of the flash memory market simply by doing this. Additionally, it would have massively helped their format awareness.
Back to the mp3 dealie. The audioplayer on my UX50 recognises mp3’s. Infact, I’ve never heard of ATRAC, but I’m glad I never have to deal with it. Since my UX50 is Memory Stick compatible, does anyone here know of a place to get huge capacity MS’s? 1gb+? Ebay has them around $205.00.
sounds like someone is slaggin about two years behind the competition
hahah
i think sony’s problem has to do with communication. They’ve become sooooooOOOOOOOooOOOoOOo freakin large, that they just don’t have enough communication with their other departments. when i was over at their service centre, i saw not 4 not 5 but like 8 to 12 giant buildings. and this doesn’t include all their other minion, service depos, and main offices all around the world. which means, feedback doesn’t get considered too well.
Sony could easily have monopolized the vcr era (8track?), the laser disc era (MD) and even the mp3 world if they weren’t soo deaf toned and stuck up.
goes to show how much money apple puts into their marketing department

Thank goodness…couldn’t imagine converting some 6,000 mp3’s to ATRAC…lol
Was reading through my LAPTOP magazine, and they have a preview for a Sony Digital Music player, it has a 2.5 inch screen to let you see the album apparently, and a grid of buttons…the article said this grid of buttons which have nothing on them will make searching easier. It’s estimated to be around $499.99 when it comes out, but you will still have to convert to ATRAC.
