[quote author=“gameson”]so eric, has your buyer (groovy or others) confirm it to you that he actually bought it and has the product in his hand ready to ship to you? thanks
Nope, I haven’t heard anything since his last post…but I am not too worried, if it doesn’t go through, oh well, i’ll live. I figured for ~$100 I could have a decent flash based player to throw around…I won’t loose sleep over it.
When Groovy gets back I’m sure he will tell me what happened. I wish I knew before I sent him out that it might not have started till tomorrow, I feel like an a$$ now.
Ok, sorry, I was away from my computer the whole day and I didn’t have a chance to go check it out. I can go tomorrow for sure so I could stop by the store to pick it up.
if i m not mistaken, can u buy 20 gb digital music player for $250? if so, then for $125 you can get 10 gb. for this walkman, $75 is for 256 mb, if u want to add 128 mb, u pay around $50, therefore for $125, u get 384 mb (assuming if i can buy 20 gb player for $250 for other than ipod). ipod new 20 gb is $300, am i right?
ipod 20 and 40 gb is harddrive based, right? how about that ipod mini 4 gb? if they are hd based as well, what’s the selling point of ipod mini besides their small size? it’s 4 gb and it’s $250.
[quote author=“gameson”]hmm, after i think of it, i might pass…

It never pays to buy flash. I want this for sheer ability to not care what I do with it. I wasn’t paying $299 for that, but ~$100 I will.
oic, yeah, i guess for flash player, there is no moving parts, as for hd, there are moving parts, flash player is more immune to shock compare to hd based, right?
but i still dont quite get it, ipod mini is only 4gb and it’s not flash based, what makes ipod mini a better choice than the ipod 20 gb? ipod mini is $250 and ipod 20 gb is $300

Sheer size…thats the only advantage IMO.
As for the biggest flash…honesly, you could find an Mp3 Player that accepts CF, CF is up to 4GB…I know the NEX II uses CF, not sure which other ones though.
One of my coworkers just picked up an 8GB CF card, pretty droolworthy except for the $1000+ cost.
As for the iPod mini selling so well despite its high pricetag, the components aren’t cheap, and the Hitachi Microdrive was selling for $400+ alone back when the mini was introduced. Nowadays you can find one for about $200, so for another $50 you get mp3 playing capability, rudimentary organizer functions, and a backlit LCD. Not too bad.
The 20GB iPod is only $50 more and has more storage capacity, but the smaller size of the iPod mini is more important to some people. Why buy a TR when an S is almost twice as fast for the same price? Same thing.
Amazing the first post was Oct. 23rd….and yet it’s Oct 24th and there is already 4 pages…4 pages! That’s insane…of course this isn’t the first time tifosiv as made us post so much, remember when he sold his TR on Ebay? LOL just thought that bore a need to post.
