Considering what I’ve read about how distributed their systems are, I doubt it. They run their own proprietary OS and filesystem across thousands of lower-end machines that are little more than a HD laid on top of a mobo, CPU and RAM so that it’s easy for guys in carts to go through the datacenter replacing dead nodes. Remember that they cache half the internet already.

Wow, with how powerful google I could some how imagine a B rate, sci fi film that has a plot in which a google server comes to life and becomes a villian who threatens he world!  Of course it could just be the weed that makes me imagine such things.  lol

I can’t believe so many people are jumping on this….I still don’t like the idea that nothing can ever be deleted….thats kinda freaky….and the rumors I have heard is that people can use it to do searches on your emal…. :ph34r:

you can delete messsages in gmail. trashed messages more than 30 days old will be automatically deleted.

hypothetically, the trash bin is supposed to empty itself of items in it for thirty days or more, but that doesn’t seem to be working properly.  it is a bug and i’m sure it has been reported.. if your account is very active, i would go into trash and “delete forever” every once in awhile until the issue is resolved.
