well, i glanced thru the manual, it looks like the jog dial don’t support winamp, it supports windows media player and sonic stage for music playback, now i use media player to play my playlist and looks like it’s working now i can play, pause, previous and next the playlist… a bit better, then i look at the manual again, it says that i can see the name of the track on the menu, but i can’t see it.
from what i observe, i can’t search the file from the jog dial, u know, like the ipod. therefore, if i want to play something, i have to create the playlist first in the media player then play the playlist. and i can only go back and forward the song, i can’t random it.
tifosi, do u use the flip animator? what else can i do with this jog dial to improve my music listening?

I used Windows media player. Honestly, I used the remote maybe 10 times, thats it…nothing special, nothing technical…it was a pure waste for me.
well, sort of waste, but at least it reduce my needs to open the TR lid when i take my TR with me… before using this jog dial, if i want to play next song, i have to open the lid and play it, now i can just the jog dial.
i m quite happy with the jog dial, but dunno if it’s worth $70 that i pay. btw, the headphone that come with it sucks, i have to use my other headphone. for you guys out there, it’s better to buy JR1 than JRH1, trust me on this. with the included headphone, if u max out the main volume and the media player volume along with the MegaBass ON, it’s just awful.
groovy, is the plug in really necessary? i uninstalled it the other day and i couldn’t see the display at all. i have to install it to make it work again.
btw, how do i show the track name in the jog dial? i use windows media player to play my mp3s.
[quote author=“tifosiv122”]dbs - A lot of these issues were ones that I raised as well…it’s just a poor design in most cases…I think that’s why it’s no longer sold.

I agree, I’ve followed the earlier threads and couldn’t see a lot of value in it, particularly not for the price and the fact that the TR can’t support some of its functions anyway.
I’ve enjoyed using my SE T68i phone as a wireless remote for WinAmp on the TR. Got me thinking how cool a generic bluetooth remote/display could be.
I just got one of these things on ebay. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Winamp plug-in avaliable at http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA017649/. It’s in japanese, naturally.
