Very interesting.

I’m sure we’ve all opened up Windows Media Player and screamed at the horrible noise that we hear, but alas…I’ve found a program that truly lets you hear good sound out of the TR speakers…

In your “bundled software” (yes I know bundled software is for the devil and what not…but give it a try) you have SonicStage.  Open that up, choose your music drive and you will find 7 or so songs.  Play them, they sound incredible on the TR’s speakers….absolutely incredible.

Volume is one major problem in the TR. How well do u think these cards handle volume ? Is there any upsurge in volume at all ?

i still have the 2.5mm -> 3.5mm adapter from my treo 600..just want one that’s 3.5mm.. i hate adapters.

I have the Echo Indigo IO.(records also)

They are Audiophile quality.
As an example. There’s a sampler called Gigastudio that many classical/commercial composers use ( for movie and television composition mostly)
It comes with a large assortment of very high quality classical instrument samples (for instance I have Gigastudio sample set called VSL (for Vienna Symphony Library) that’s about 100GB. Some of the single samples are over 1gb.
Anyway , there’s a really short list of audio cards that this program will work with (It won’t even run without one of these cards)

The Echo IO is recomended by the makers of this app (Tascam),and they say it’s one of the more stable cards (and most of the audio cards they use cost over 1K!)

This may give you an idea of what this card is. The company ,Echo Audio is very high end.

my casing is a bit cheap.  but that has to do with my limitations in tools

i’m actually thinking about adding an maudio usb source or PIMETA. 

the only down side is that i also want a PocketPC.
