I have never used wifi before and i just clean installed win xp pro and wanted to know how do i search for connection and what can i do with a wifi other then having a wireless connection. i got tr3

I can use the net in my lunch hour sat in our canteen at work.  A marketing consultancy firm across the road has a completely insecure WIFI network - IDIOTS :evil: - the net is so much more fun when you’re getting it for free. :D

My dad’s next door neighbour is also not the wiser that i pinch his bandwidth and use his Broadband for free!

is this a silly question:
how do you do this?
i cant even get onto allowed ones :(
i can find the hotspots (APs), but when i try to connect - boot up explorer, it tries to launch my dialup connection.
how do you actually log on to the un secured (or even the allowed points like i discovered at the airport recently) and surf?

If its set up right the TR should sniff for active hotspots and try to connect to them automatically.

you need to set your internet options to connect thru another computer - the easiest way of doing this is with the network wizard
