from this picture, it looks like T overall thickness is the same as TR base thickness (TR without the LCD).  that’s pretty thin.  tomorrow i m heading frys and bring my TR to compare it in person.  i looked at it once before and it’s light, lighter than TR when both are weigh without battery

It defientely feels like it is a lot more streamline….It cut off a lot of loose cargo that wasn’t need on the TR….

I like it without the camera and the visible speakers…

The overall design of the T series I think is way better…

I wish grOOvy would do a review for it and give it the credit it is deserved….

Sorry gamerson….I can’t go without my notebook for that long….And I will do a long review later when I have more time to give my thoughts on it….

Yeah, I’m not sure I will be buying a T anytime soon. Between my Type S and my TR, there’s not a whole lot of reason for me to get a T. It doesn’t do anything my other two notebooks can’t do. Also, to a certain degree, it’s more limiting to me than my TR since it has less features that I personally use.

Also, in terms of hardware, the T isn’t anything new over the TR. Yes, it has a marginally faster processor, a more full featured DVD burner and slimmer body but that’s it. The guts are essentially the same. I would be more inclined to get a T if it had the next gen chipset in it with DX9 support, hi def audio, PCI Express, and more wireless support (802.11a/b/g/n).

So, waiting and watching…unless i get a review unit.  :wink:

how’s the paint on the T series?  i always had a feeling that the exterior portion of the TR was very susceptible to scratches in comparison to the smooth inside.

The paint seems fine….No scratches yet…(crossing my fingers) 

I agree with you grOOvy, there is no reason for you to get one since you have a TR and a S….

But it was bitter sweet with me….I wanted all these features that my TR didn’t have….Also I was ready for a new notebook. :wink:

Who knows how long I’ll wait now to upgrade…Probably like you and wait for a new chipset with dx9…

I would love to see you too….do up a review on the T but, I can’t live without mine….I am falling in love again when I didn’t think it was possible…

Well, I’ll never say never. My buying patterns have more to do with necessity. I don’t buy for the future. I buy based on what I need to do and my needs change from time to time depending on the kinds of projects I’m working on personally and professionally.

So, we’ll see.

good to hear that…I would love for you to have a T-series one day…I really think its a terrifc sub and has a lot of advantages over the TR….
