Hi, if you own a TR5AP model please get in touch.
I need a copy of the Bios Image so I can flash my TR5B model to install English on my system.
I don’t read chinese characters and really want English OS with Sony software.
If you can help, please advise.
Thanks
Scott

Sorry,
Just getting very frustrated dealing with Sony Japan, they are as tight as tight can be.
Maybe I should take a holiday and fly to the states to get the Bios Image???

Might be hard since the TR5 has been discontinued in the US.

I have still been trying to find someone that has the American model of the TR5B (TR5AP) but my search is running into dead ends all the time.
If someone out there has the TR5AP please get in touch, thanks.

Discontinued? Although I was expecting this, I am surprized that it would have happened so fast. Any press releases, Email messages or postings from Sony to that effect?

Brilliant!! I am currently waiting for my TR5B and I know some TR5B owners seek your help for the TR5AP’s Bios. We would really appreciate it if you could provide us with TR5AP’s Bios.

Really appreciate your offer. However, I am not sure how to extract or backup the BIOS. Perhaps, someone can comment in this area?
I have found a few utilities with regards to BIOS here. In addition, this link appears to illustrate the process to backup BIOS. Hopefully, this will get us somewhere.

This may be a dumb question, but why not just go onto the US Sony website and download it or is it blocked to people outside of the USA? Why not have someone email it to you?

Never mind, I just looked and realized that Sony doesn’t have a BIOS update posted. Stupid Sony, tisk tisk tisk.
