As previously reported, Sony flash-based digital audio players will support the MP3 file format by the middle of next year, the executives said.

Basically, it says that Sony is considering new MP3 players that will actually, yes, support MP3 and other audio formats.  This is news that I have been longing for, for a long time.  Perhaps Sony might FINALLY be the iPod-ouster?
