I have the original TR1! No dvd burner!
I thought the same as you and posted my problem with DVD reviewer Forum. If you read the replies you will see apparently we are wrong in our assumption (not practise)!

heck i cant make heads or nails out of that thread! but i guess i would not have thought to try and even read an unfinalized rewriteable DVD on my tr anyway. is that what we are talking about?  i can never be sure just what others mean - and even what i mean on later reading - in these forums.
