how do i configure ram disk? i just installed ram disk and i don’t know how to set it so that cache files will be saved there. should i change some settings after i install it or all temporary files will be saved to the ram disk automatically after installing it?
:? Shucks, Statement withdrawn. I just tried using the Sandisk as my Temporary Drive with some different websites and it seems like there was a larger lag when trying to open a website or access already stored webpages. O well…
I’ve been using the AR Ramdisk, configured Auto, emulate hard drive and set for 96MB. I didn’t notice any slowdown when I installed it, but there’s been SP2 since.
How are you documenting the slowdown? Whenever I reboot it takes a bit longer for web pages to load as they’re not cached. Afterward, my regular pages load quickly.
When I first installed it I felt it sped up page loads over usinng the HD. I installed it for mobile use primarily. Figured the ramdisk would cut drive access when browsing wireless on bat. Don’t expect miracles, this kiind of stuff is incremental.

[quote author=“garryt12”]didn’t you notice any slowdown in the boot up of the tr? that is where i noticed some slow down not while browsing
I really didn’t notice when I first installed it. Like anything loading at boot it would add some time to the process. My boots seem to take longer under SP2 and I’ve some apps I load. <twiddle thumbs> Thank God for hibernate, I only boot when I have to.
[quote author=“garryt12”]i can’t use ar ramdisk with mozilla firefox? or i can? how do i configure it? i can’t find an option where to save the cache files
I can’t tell you how, but I know it’s been done. You have to edit an .ini file or something.
Do a google search for: ramdrive mozilla configure or variations on that theme.
