[quote author=“gr00vy0ne”][quote author=“OnMyWayUp”][quote author=“gr00vy0ne”]Well…having a Japanese keyboard won’t help you learn japanese faster since you’re most likely going to use romaji as your main input method. The japanese keyboard will then be basically the same as an english keyboard. The only thing that a Japanese keyboard helps in is having a single key that can quickly cycle through the various kana modes (hiragana, katakana, eigo, etc.). You can of course do this with some keyboard shortcuts as well.
gr00vy, you’ve told me this at least 2-3 times . I know. Basically I’m hoping to completely assimilate into Kanji, Hiragana, and Katakana writing. Kanji probably won’t be aided with a Jap. keyboard… but even if it helps me get more familiar with the other kana alone… I’ll be happy.
And I’m going to keep on telling you! You either know the characters by heart or you don’t and a keyboard isn’t going to help that. I speak from experience.
Well, in either case. It may become a neccessity. I may be able to go on a year foreign-exchange program to Japan (along with trackstar68)!!!! I’m so excited and hope I can go. :D
Yeah, I still think it was a good deal. Take a T, add Ram, BT, 802.11a, and all the accesssories I provided, plus the $150 battery coupon and you couldn’t come close to the $2900 he paid.
Don’t forget, $2,200 + tax, I know here that would be another $130+.
Not agreeing or disagreeing…but you forgot to add around $80 for the webcam. And Erik included a lot of other stuff…leather case (forgot how much), Apple BT keyboard ($69), speakers, etc. So, there was a lot of value add especially if the buyer needed/wanted all that stuff (which they apparently did).
[quote author=“Sony Vaio”]but that buyer chose his TR ... so for what such a discussion???
dude, some people really feel kinda bored….
Haha..true. They obviously felt it was worth it otherwise they wouldn’t have bid on it. And, it’s not like the seller was trying to rip anyone off. He explained everything, hid nothing like a good seller and someone felt that it was a good value. Winner winner winner!
[quote author=“Anonymous”]i think the deal is without the apple keyboard and mouse, if i recall from his post. even with that, apple keyboard and mouse is $150 new. so add this up, should come out to $2850, let’s add the webcam as well for the heck of it, so total is $2900
that buyer can buy T with all new accessories for $2900. and that buyer bought tifosiv used stuff for the same price.
i dont want to create heat/argument, but i m just trying to be logical here. in the end, the seller made out more than the buyer, A LOT MORE
Did you even see tifosiv122’s eBay listing? Did you see all the accessories??? There is no way those totalled up to a mere $600-$700. $2900(sell price) - $2100(TR price) = $800 (then you have to consider taxes…) All of his upgrades were also already upgraded… a convenience factor. Realistically, it could have gone either way, either the buyer didn’t know about the T or did and didn’t care. I know I prefer the TR’s design more than the T’s (although I do like the T).
ScenarioA: The buyer could have simply A) liked the accessories, B) liked the upgrades, C) liked the conveniece factorability and D) preferred the TR’s design. Or ScenarioB: Was completely ignorant and liked the TR simply because it was, cute and had a lot of included “things”.
LOL, sorry, forgot the T included BT, but i think you still forgot to add in the $150 battery credit (he mentioned this was a big selling point as he wanted a second battery).
He seemed happy with the purchase and I am happy with the sale. I had 3 bidders at the time I closed the auction, it was up to $3,000 with a little over 1 day left (most bids happen the last day). I am confident it would have gone up to $3,100-200…but I had my reasons to close it earlier.
Knowing the T was coming out, and knowing I wanted the 505 played a huge role in selling the TR, I knew it was now or never, I made it by a week. I sold my SLK last summer because I knew selling it in the summer was the thing to do and Mercedes was going to release an all new SLK in 2005…it’s all about timing.
