[quote author=“Guest”]This is my suggestion to CJMPower.
I recently upgraded Kingston KST-U101/512 for my TR3A.
When I installed the RAM first time, the screen showed that
the Windows XP’s “c:\windows\system32\NTFS.sys” was corrupted
or damaged.
After I switch around the memory in BANK 1, just Kingston memory,
and tried all possible combinations, the computer finally did not turn on.

So, I took all memory modules and battery out, just install the
original stock SONY memory in BANK 1, plug the power cord without
putting the battery back in to computer, turn the computer on.
The Power should come back on. Then, pop the battery back in to
the computer.
I am still getting the same error message as I start windows XP with
the Kingston 512M RAM installed with the original stock memory.
As soon as I take the memory, everything is working just fine.
This memory is from the factory since the first Kingston memory
module I purchased had the same problem, so I got replaced module
from the Kingston last week, and the new module has same problem.
If anyone has same problem, please show me the light.

Well I actually am the one that doesn’t need the help. When I did get my laptop in the very beginning my Kingston RAM wasn’t functioning…I would try every configuration but in the end, the computer wouldn’t start. I finally contacted Kingston’s RMA department to get a new module. Seeing that this is somewhat common, you might have received two defective pieces including the new piece you just got from Kingston. Good Luck.
