I know the normal address is 192.168.0.1 but i changed this due to a conflict with a cable modem. Now I can’t remember the new address and as such am unable to change the routers settings to setup my Xbox online. It’s all very sad :(

can anybody help?

first try 192.168.10.1

... if that does not work then look for a reset switch on the back of it.  probably have a place to stick a paperclip.  hold it there for like 10-15 seconds and then plug it all back in.

then try :

192.168.0.1
192.268.10.1

one of those should work…

ARP -A

and hit enter and see what it says. It’s likely the first address you see listed is your router’s address.

I thought of that but was hoping for an easier way, last time it took me ages to get the conflicts ironed out. I thought there might be a little app that would do it. Or a ping thing or something. Another thought however….

If I was sucking some poor sobs wireless internet connecion with my TR without their full approval, would I be able to use a crossover to connect the Xbox to the TR, thus using their generosity for my online gaming?

Has anybody tried this?

Would I be easy to trace using this connection?

Groovy, it just gives me my ip address and the other pc on the networks ip address, not the hub… :(

YEAH. I’m wondering too. Also, the people dancing in the avatar are they all super heros? Especially the one towards the left most corner looks like some comic legend and the one on the rightmost corner looks like ..well .... Spiderman. and the female looks like some shrew from the game street fighters. 

In the DOS window try the old “ipconfig /all” command

If you run config /all, you should see the default gateway and/or DHCP server address shown under the local area connection.  That should be the address for your hub.

Sorry - that should be “ipconfig /all” not “config /all.”

what damn op system are you running anywho?

you just need to click on the wireless network icon in the bottum right of you screen like the others said and then click the support tab the the default gatway is the ip you are looking for.

then just enter that in your brouser address bar and voila…

you really shoud try 192.168.10.1 seems to be a popular one for wireless router .... which router are you running?

ipconfig /all gives you your default gateway, which is usually your router.

hubs & switches don’t have IP addresses though, they’re only layer 2 devices (well some do for management purposes).
