I just joined the boards and thank god I found them for this post alone!  I reloaded windows blindly figureing I could download these from Sony ... then tried contacting sony for them ... as much as I love their products they have ass for support.  Anyway my friend I thank you greatly for the help of uploading those, the laptop lost so much luster when those 4 hotkeys on the LCD didnt work

the 3.4 is currently the latest version.. it works great on my tr2. older versions might work..

If you’re looking for the French one (BlueSpaceNE_340013230_FRA.exe) then it should be 3.2 mb while the english one (BlueSpaceNE_340013230_ENG.exe)  is 3.07 mb.

That’s really upto you what other things you want. This post was mainly for people who formatted their TR’s without making recovery cd’s. When you get your TR, make your recovery cd’s and then you are safe since whatever mistake you might make, you can always restore your TR to the factory setup.

Wow - this thread has been incredibly handy!  Rahul, I’m looking for VAIO Media (v2.6?) and I see you had it posted at one point - it doesn’t appear to still be there, thogujh.  Do you (or anyone else) have that somewhere that can be shared?

Great job, Rahul.  I couldn’t figure out which file has the driver for the TR2A Motion Eye camera.  Do you have that separately somewhere?

The situation is a friend’s TR2A hard drive went south.  She didn’t make the recovery CDs.  I installed a retail WinXP and got the drivers from Sony’s web site.  All except the camera driver worked.  I’ve since found out that the driver Sony has on the web is for the stand alone camera.

Try “network smart capture” and “smart capture library” and also refer to this post if u face any further problems. Step 7 in particular will be of interest if the the network smart capture software hangs up.

It’s unlikely anyone here will have the desktop RS model so you might be better off just paying the $25 for the discs from Sony. Some people have successfully argued with Sony to get them to send it for free (especially if it’s still under warranty) but it will take some patience on your part.

Have you posted over at Vaio Village? They have more desktop users there. Someone may have the same desktop unit as you.

I think someone had recently posted here the reason for the camera showing a black screen. It was because the CCD inside the camera was messed up and the only solution was replacing it.

As far as your wired ethernet is concerned, here’s a (silly?  :oops: ) suggestion: Try a different cable if you haven’t already…the cable could be bad.
