I manually snipe myself and hit the refresh button like crazy. It’s so much more satisfying.  :wink: Use a program? Bah! That’s against all that’s PURE and CHASTE!

If I can’t be at my computer when the auction is going to end then I just put up a price that I’d be happy with and let it ride. Sometimes lucky and somethings unlucky. I tell myself it wasn’t meant to be if I don’t win. :?

The only program that I use with eBay is their Turbolister program which makes my life easier when I have a ton of stuff to sell.

EDIT: thats what threw me off last week with the uBid auction…I tried to snipe it and it extended the auction 10 mins…what a waste!

So do you not bid at all before the last few minutes?

Depends on the auction, but usually, no. I try to wait as long as possible and then snipe it away…its so much more fun that way.

Good to know that extending the life of the S could be as simple as dropping in a new processor. I’m pretty happy with the performance of the 1.7GHz chip, and it gets great battery life as well. Still, a 2GHz machine would be very nice to have around… 

Well I am yet to do the proper benchmarks but I did some battery benchmarks last night as I was wondering how much extra power the new cpu used…. Before the upgrade my battery would last 3hrs and 42mins untill critical battery running a dvd movie non-stop and screen set to 5 brightness…. and medium volume settings.

With the new 2ghz processor, it lasts 3hrs 24mins before critical under the same conditions…. I think I can live with 18mins less battery power with the considerable speed increase…. (the increase in speed has really surprised me, I didn’t think it would make this much of a difference…). Besides, I am still considering the exntended battery…

Now if we can figure out how to upgrade the video card, that would make my day!...
