I consider myself a guitarist, mainly. But I have done lots of tours and studio work, now focusing on studio work and productions. I own a studio and develop bands, do songwriting and production, a lot of work with record companies. I started off in a band that scored pretty well on several continents a little over a decade ago and have branched off to stuff that is behind the scenes.

As for Japan, right now I am doing guitar clinics for my endorser, Ibanez guitars. I come here a couple of times a year for this kind of thing. Also, since the company is Japanese, they take on a much more extensive form here, meaning that I go play in schools out in the countryside for kids that are shut off from this kind of thing.

I really don’t advertise myself, since I don’t like doing all that press stuff anymore and prefer to stay behind the scenes of the music industry. The fame and screaming fan bit is really not my bag, I just want to make music. You can pretty much figure out the rest from my homemade website, I guess.

Lastly, I do a lot in the finance business just because I need a diversion from music!

I just sent the pics to Erik, plus something else I saw that was interesting. It appears to be a wireless internet station for anywhere in the house, consiting of only a screen.

Also of interest was the Sony answer to the iPod—it is really small! The controls and GUI aren’t as smooth as that great wheel on the iPod, unfortunately. I haven’t really found anything that surpasses that iPod GUI up to now.

But there is another Sony handheld media player. I failed to write down the model number or take a picture. It looks really cool and has a slight curve to it which fits very well in the hand. You guys probably already know about it, though!

Lastly, I have asked about the JRH jog dial remotes. Seeing as how I am only passing through small cities, Toyama being the largest, nobody has had it in stock. However, I will have an afternoon in Nagoya on Saturday, and will bug the shit out of the reps to visit as many electronics stores as possible. They must be used to it by now, with me…

If I can indeed find them, I will pick up 5, which seems like it’ll cover everybody’s needs here. Bear in mind that shipping will be from Germany, since I will not return to North America this year at all.
