[quote author=“tifosiv122”][quote author=“VAIOfreak”]Hey Tifo,
You mentioned that you got the USB BT as an accessory, you should have waited for the latest gadget PCGA-BA2. It will be available soon here.
Stan
Thats the only item not on order, it’s the one I am getting for free from Sony after I purchase the laptop.
What makes PCGA-BA2 different? (I wish it was black)
Erik
The difference is an updated BT profile 1.1 version I think and of course BlueSpace software updated. Profiles supported:
Generic Access Profile
Service Discovery Application Profile
Serial Port Profile
Dial-up Networking Profile
Generic Object Exchange Profile
Object Push Profile
Hardcopy Cable Replacement Profile
Human Interface Device Profile
Personal Area Networking Profile
There is also a black VAIO mouse available for sale (I got one from SonyStyle), it will match your X505, the one they supply with it is a bit ugly I think.
As for keyboard, you can always buy X505 EN keyboard from Sony Parts and replace your JP one.

[quote author=“VAIOfreak”]To my knowledge it needs SP1 and the Setup CD will do everything for you to install the BT. SP2 adds more support for BT. Not sure.

Great, thanks. Its hard to tell because it was in Jap. but it said something about SP2 and Bable was giving me errors.
I cannot upgrade to SP2 just yet, Westlaw and LexisNexis both have issues with SP2 and I need to access both of them via my notebook.
Woo Hoo…the money finally cleared my CC…I have a credit of $790, lol. Now I just need to wait till tuesday morning. They keyboard is being overnighted from Sony…should get here Monday or Tuesday as well…
Class starts at 3pm Tuesday…I hope the notebook shows up in time…I want to test it out ASAP.
The camera showed up yesterday, so I am ready to go…
How times change. When I was in law school, no one brought laptops to class since they all had to be plugged in, they were at least 10 lbs and were the size of at least 2 law books.

Good luck in school!
Lol, we still need to plug them in, but there are plugs everywhere now.

They just posted it on Sony Style:
*If your OS version is Windows(R) XP, Windows(R) XP SP1 or SP1a, update the OS to Windows(R) SP2 before using this product.
So I am not sure if it’s required or suggested…I really cannot update to SP2 on my 505…
Yes, I thought it was X505 as well, but when I saw Kansas City, I knew it was Sony Parts Center since I ordered a bunch of stuff from them as well.
Congrats! I can’t wait to see your X505 in action and pics. How much was the keyboard by the way?
As for your above question:“If your OS version is Windows(R) XP, Windows(R) XP SP1 or SP1a, update the OS to Windows(R) SP2 before using this product.

PCGA-BA2 will need SP2 most likely because of an updated profile of the BT. Why can’t you update your 505 to SP2? What’s the deal? You got the external CD/DVD writer, or an online download will do… are there any limitations I am not aware of?

Man, Sony replaced my tiny VAIO mouse (PCGA-UMS3/V) and guess what they sent it back to me in….. I received this huge box shipped overnight (they paid for it) and I trully thought they mistakenly sent me a laptop :!:
And after opening and digging through the packaging I found nicely packed new replacement mouse.
