Honeslty I think the bidding would have gone to $3,200…but I figured it this way, I saved $160 by ending it early (and they way he paid) and I didnt need to worry if the winning bidder would pay or not, or how long it would take.
I figure I lost about $50-100 over keeping the auction up, but this way I know its a sure thing…
Of cource I could have always sold it to the nice man in Indonesia who offered $5K for the notebook

Well, Sony helped. The TR5 is $2,999.99…and mine had the BT plus all the accessories…the only difference was 1Ghz vs 1.1Ghz.
The guy who bought my TR said he was looking to go for a new TR5 but stumbled upon my auction and figured for the price he can’t go wrong…which is true, if you needed the specs, it was a great deal.
Hey tifosiv122,
Ubid sells stuff from Sony and for some reason they call it refurb but in reality those products are brand new and just repackaged with Refurb sticker on top of the box. I think Sony and Ubid have a deal and Sony is able to sell a lot of their stuff. X505 is listed on it, and lots of nice accessories. I bought VAIO speakers from them for $39 instead of paying Sony $79, got a number of extra batteries for my GRX for about $39 (Sony wants $199), and so on.
Re Ebay sale: I am glad you did not go with the guy from Indonesia, whenever I sell on ebay I have a lot of scammer email me to end the auction early and the sellers promise me $$$$, and once you end it, you never hear back from them, so you lose at the end. I am sure you are aware of it.

Yeah I knew about the Indonesia one. Last time I sold my laptop (different one) I actually had a guy send a check…turns out it bounced (duh) and when he asked for the tracking # I gave him the phone # for the FBI and told him to ask them.
I just checked it out, its at $2,600…thats about $400 off SonyStyle (but SonyStyle gives you $200 eCheck)...but that includes a 90 day warranty instead of 1 year…call me nuts, but a full warranty is worth more then $200-400…at least in my mind. I know one small thing on these notebooks, let alone a screen, is over $200.
