It came down to price/weight. It was the same price and i was getting a lighter notebook…since thats what i was looking for…I figured it was worth a shot. I was told by 2 places it was impossible to do the swap because they wouldnt fit, but I will see myself.

Nice…my friend just sold his 55 and ordered a 65…he had a 500 for about a week and returned it to the dealer to order the 55 back then…lol, he’s a riot. The 55 is one sweet ride…I am waiting to hear about the new SLKs, I like them…but I won’t drive a car thats not stick (I made that mistake twice, wont do it again), so all AMGs are out of the question. Chris687 - not too much of a risk…I can turn it around and sell it for about the same price on ebay…eek, ebay again, lol. The jap. keyboard might not be that bad though…we will see.

my senior partner bought his silver (too typical color isnt it?) sl500 4 months ago and i was going for the same modell, but with other accessoires like brabus alloys, brabus front, etc. but then we decided for the 55amg after testing it for a whole week from our local dealer ... its a hell of a ride
the amg65 would be too much power for me and besides where in the usa youre able to have that performance as we have the german highways with no speed limits :ph34r:

Legally? Nowhere…well, we have lots of racetracks, which are always fun. Illegally? There are plenty of police friendly highways and areas restricted for those who can pay for it.
Then, of course, there is always the Gumball…
Still, nothing like the Autobahn…too bad, I loved driving on it…but I would prob. get myself killed if I drove on it everyday, I am way too aggressive of a driver.
