so far, I have made 8 coasters out of 15 :cry: .
DVD burner: Matshita UJ-812
Media Used: Verbatim Data-life 4X DVD-R

I thought verbatim is one of top brands. Since it never give me one single bad copy on my Destop’s Plextor :D DVD burner.

I have tried sony’s own brand which “seems” to be good enough with no burning problems, but i only tried 2 disks and they were dvd-rw only record at 1X. I can not really recommend Sony 1X DVD-RW disk because of its slower write speed and high price (almost the most expensive but made in Taiwan not Japan) :evil: .

Does anyone have the same problem with the UJ-812? Can anyone recommend which brand(s) works with that drive? I think i may try TDKs later on.

Btw, after such bad experience with UJ812 and DVD-R disks, I even think that DVD-RWs are more economic in both short and long term as I can always wipe and reburn, until I find a workable DVD-R brand. Please help.

only panasonic uj-812, and no recommendation under that drive :cry:

never have a problem using tdk medias with my uj-812. btw..matshita is panasonic.

thank you, will give tdk a try. btw, which extract model do you use? I found there are several models, the most expensive calls “armor plated”, retail for 3 dollar each.

i wonder if the burn speed makes a big diff.  perhaps try using your verbatims at 1x

(yea, i know, it’ll suck but atleast you know if your player can burn verbatims)

i know my cd burner doesn’t burn everything at full speed
