2002, Ferrari won 15 out of 17, only losing 2.

In 1988 there were only 16 races…if there was a 17th it is possible that McLaren would have lost that second one.

when we are talking facts, i never use the word ‘if’.  ‘if’ is just an imaginary condition.  fact is fact. mclaren won everything but one.  when ferrari does that, then we talk.  also, prost senna is one of the most dominate partnership ever.  they are both equal drivers, senna has 3 championship, dun remember about prost.  granted, schumacher has 7 championship, but his partner has zero, nothing, nada.  during that senna prost year, senna won one and prost won one.  they competed against each other, not like barichelo who just gave in for schumacher.  remember last year hungary (if i m not mistaken) incident?

fact is schumacher has 7 rings. he is great, i give that, and he competes at the right place and the right time, with the great team. but he is not a true competitor.  ferrari helps him a lot, including that infamouse team order.  mclaren did not and doesn’t have team order.  senna is much more better driver than schumacher in every ways. 

to have a place in history is to be at the right place, the right time and a great team.  people like michael jordan and schumacher is considered greatest because of that.

Yeah but your comparing 2 things. The McLaren Season had one less race. Remember baseball and the * because of the different amount of games…it’s the same thing. It is not fair to compare the 2 seasons. But it really doesn’t matter…that was one season, this has been 6 seasons straight.

And as far as Rubens Barrichello:

2004 - 2 Wins, 7 Second places, 4 third places - 13 top 3 out of 16
2003 - 2 Wins, 1 Second place, 5 third place
2002 - 4 Wins, 5 Second places, 1 third place

He’s no slouch by any means…

EDIT: There are always incidents…if Michael wasn’t hit in the tunnel under caution this year…while he was in first, taking him out of the race….you get the point.

but still, rubens vs senna teammate such as prost, mansell among others, rubens just plain sucks…. prost has 50 wins that schumacher broke last year or two seasons ago.  barichello, maybe i m mistaken, but he is not even the winningest drivers in the grid today besides schumacher.  2nd winningest drivers in the grid today besides schumacher is david coulthard, and he achieved that with less dominated mclaren (mclaren only dominated two seasons during hakkinen year, the rest of them, mclaren sucks.  even in that two seasons, mclaren only won one constructor championship, the other was ferrari in 99 when schumacher broke his leg and eddie irvine was running for his only shot in championship. hakkinen again won that in 99. it shows how sucks mclaren is).  i can safely say that coulthard is far more better driver in barichello just by the personal record and the team they are driving.  if (like i said, i hate to use this word) u give schumacher partner like montoya, for example, or jacques villenueve, he won’t win as much.  but again fact is fact, so i give schumacher the credit that he wins 7 rings.

i think even schumacher acknowledged that if hakkinen wasn’t retired and if mclaren was as competitive as ferrari, he probably won’t be as successful as today.  he said that among active drivers, the only driver that he respects when he is in his prime is mika hakkinen. mika won the last 2, 98 n 99, before schumacher 5 years of domination.

Mika got out, IMO, because he was scared to go on…go out with a legacy…doesn’t want to end up like Senna…

Senna - decent driver, made out to be the worlds best when he died…why? Cause he died…he had not won a championship since 1991…he had a good career, but it was pretty much over for him anyway.

Montoya - The cry-baby…it would be a frozen day in hell before either would agree to be teamates (Michael).

As far as Senna & Prost…they hated each other, which is why Prost went to Ferrari…

Rubens was hired to pad Ferraris place, not win…it’s that simple. Sure, he could have won several times, but thats not good team strategy…its a team, not an individual. If both drivers are fighting for 1st place and they collide now you have 2 cars out…at the price it costs them to race, that wouldn’t be good for either driver, the team, or company. Rubens is in 2nd place this year, who cares if he had the most 1st places or not…Rubens is a good driver who knows his place…you can’t have a hot-head like Montoya or Mika paired with Michael, it just wouldn’t work.

Anyway, this isn’t the place to talk about F1…there are plenty of other boards that host these discussions…

Last 2 races have been terrible for schumi…I hope he starts winning again. After going back to India I was able to start watching F1 once again, but I get to see none in USA :cry:

i would imagine the sport is dying.  all the crazy regulations is limiting the expansion of the sport.

They are trying to limit the sport because companies like Ferrari just dump millions (or billions, not sure) and small upstarts can no longer compete. Jaguar (ford) will pull out next year because of financial losses.
