my discover card doesn’t allow me to ship items over X amount to a non-billing address unless i specificly have them add the address to their database.
for example, when i bought my TR and had it shipped to my gf, discover would not give money to the company unless my gf’s address was preauthorized by me. discover and the company called me 3 times! it was quite a hassle playing phone tag, but i the extra security made me feel better.
