But i am wondering why on earth they gave it the stupid “stick out the back “battery?!

It would have been shorter than the TR but now it’s longer because of the stupid old style battery.

even so i think i am convinced - groovy: you’d better get ready to add another section :D

I guess that clears up the BT question.

Looks like T’s only advantages are thickness (it wins my 10 mm, but loses in width & lenght, but has the same screen size?)  And a dual format DVD burner (I wonder if it’s dual layer).

I am much less impressed with it than I was initially, I like how they compare a Camera and MIC to DJ buttons, like there’s any simliarity there!

Groov, you need to buy it and see if you can put it’s dvd drive in your TR.

No…it’s a seriously curious design change. It is lighter on the one hand but at the expense of a cleaner design. At least you don’t have to worry about getting the standard or extended battery anymore. It’s just the “battery”. At least, it lasts a long time out of the box.

I really would have liked to see Sony add the ability to play DVD/CDs without loading the OS. That seems to be the new trend and this tiny little system would be perfect for that. It would also probably increase the battery life some as well.

Does a great job of just playing dvds..or actually cds with any video vere lightly, and quickly on boot.

So does VLC… try http://www.videolan.org or something.  Free, and it plays DVDs from File too, that way if you rip on to HD to save battery (smartripper v 2.6) you’ll be a-ok! :D

Video Lan..requires you to boot into your OS..

GeexBox..is a micro distribution of linux..under 5 megs, built just to play videos..

Saving battery on having to boot into a full OS just to play dvds.

I wonder if you could put the standard TR battery in the ‘T’.  That would make it even lighter and smaller. :shock:
