[quote author=“Godspeed”]I got the ipod (in your ear) headphones after I bought my ipod because the ones you get with it are no good. I was however extremely pissed as they always fell out of your ears (even though they come with 3 different sizes of padding).
Does anybody have the same problem with the Sony ones?
The rubber part has never come off my black ones, and I sleep with them in my ears on occation.

I paid $34 for the black ones shipped from Amazon.com when they had them on sale, and I had a coupon.
[quote author=“jso902”]the 51’s are better if you don’t have or plan to get an inline remote adapter. the 71’s cable is either hella short or hella long.
Yeah i’ve noticed that the cable is too long or too short, it’s very annoying, but I bought it because I planned on using a remote…that was short lived.
I wish they made these with the regular length cord or at least made the extension shorter. I don’t use a remote, so the short length is kind of useless. It’s too bad my trusty MDR-EX70s died after 5 years of use, and the MDR-EX71s I bought to replace them died after only 1 year. I might have to go for the 51s because of the cord issue.
[quote author=“jso902”]i thought you got an ipod? just get the in-line remote
I don’t need it…the wheel is fine for me. My DJ came with one so I figured i’d use it, needless to say, I never even opened the remote from the bag it came in.

As far as I can tell the 51 is the 71 with a standard cord. I picked up the 51 since all I wanted was something small I could easily pack around. They’ve been great.

yea, i had the misconception that the 71 was actually better. hahah
*kicks myself in the butt*
the length of the 71 can get rediculously long. but like i said before, if you have a in-line remote then all is perfect.

Cool, I guess I’ll pick a pair up then. The earbuds are styled a little differently, but the specs look the same as the 71s and the cord style is perfect.
