why not submit this forum to more search engines and putting more search words on the site e.g. tr1mp tr1a tr2a tr2/e tr1/b tr2/b

Well, it’s being worked on. In some random checks of Google, the site comes up pretty high. Typing in Sony TR in Google returns this site as the #3 hit. The same search in Yahoo gets us at #2.

So, it’s getting there.

I do have most of the terms you posted hidden in some meta tags but those aren’t very useful anymore as many search engines ignore those now. The best way to get it even higher to get more relevant links. I’ve been working on that trying to get this site posted in other high traffic groups like Leog, Tech-Report, Tom’s Hardware, Anandtech, laptop newsgroups, Notebook Review, Designtechnica, etc.

Of course, any word of mouth that folks here can spread is also good for the site. This site is growing pretty quickly though. In our first month alone with just under 100 users we’ve caught up very quickly with the Yahoo groups site and will probably continue to grow. I’m going to continue to look for more ways to get this site noticed.

Pity you can’t get somone from Sony involved. I bought a Scan DVD player a few years back, one of the big selling points was that it had it’s own forum, they even told you so when you bought the product, they put details of the site in the box.  Anyway it has got to be a plus for Sony, have you thought of contacting them?
They then could post update files, and/or links for via this site etc!!!!!!!! Especailly as it is so international.

Personally, I would love to get Sony involved but Sony typically doesn’t embrace sites like these. I suspect it has to do with legal reasons. In the past, Sony has actually tried to shutdown “unofficial” sites like these especially if they were doing things like posting software or even heated discussions about Sony “issues”. I’ll continue to look at possibilities but in the meantime we’ll just have to use our current “grass roots”  approach…

I searched for ‘Sony Vaio Forums’ ‘Sony TR Forums’ and I didn’t get this site. I found this site though another site that showed how to take apart the TR notebook.

I am glad I finally found this site.

Do you Google? This site comes up very high in Google. ‘Sony TR Forums’ brings us up very high. Sony Vaio Forums doesn’t come up as high since this really isn’t a general Vaio site. Anyways, this site is still in its infancy and has only been around for a few months. The rate at which it is growing is pretty good and we have a good crowd here. In a few more months you should see us in more search engines. Of course, all of you can help out by posting links to this site (when applicable) on other related sites.

I don’t like straight Google, I use Yahoo!. I know Yahoo uses Google, but I still use Yahoo for daily news, etc…so I use it to search as well.

I just tried Yahoo now…“Sony TR Forum”...your site came up #1. I guess when I searched in November your site was not as high because I couldn’t find it. I didn’t think to search again…if not for your article on taking it apart I would never have found the forum!
