“When connected to a USB 2.0 port, the read and write speeds are lmited to the sustained data speed of 1 Mbps max. (2HD), 500 kbps max (2DD).”

I assume when it is connected to a USB 1.1 it will be slower.

I can’t imagine it’s bottlenecked by USB 1.1 if that’s the case. man those 2x FD drives are speed demons.

I agree, but why specify USB 2.0…unless they want you to get the idea of speed…

oh haha.. im actually not using it anymore. i gave it to my sister…
it was a good drive, but i couldn’t notice the different in speed when i was using it. Overall it was okey for me. (maybe ididnt’ use it that much.)

We seem to have arrived to the same shopping preference for a FDD for the TR.  Have you managed to boot from the FDD?  I’ve tried everything I could think… It just does not work on the TR.  Not biggie really….

well, someone is hard up to sell floppies; inmho they all - the entire planet’s worth - should be shipped direct to the SUN. Here’s mine, I paid 5$usd in Singapore for it, and still feel ripped.  Its as slow as any floppy I ever used before, even though it was touted as usb2….but it does boot with the tr so i guess its worth something….
