A good deal for new purchasers, but not for us that have already upgraded are TR’s and like the color plus the camera, or the short keys.
But, If you are a new purchaser on the market for a new subnotebook. I would rate this one. For only one reason that it has bluetooth.
But, even if someone now wants a TR maybe they’ll drop in price, when this one comes out. And then it might be a plus just to get the TR and do the internal upgrade.
I don’t know why, but the T-series just doesn’t have the drooling factor I had with the TR.
I’m definitely not upgrading from TR to T; not that I wouldn’t in the first place, but the TR pretty much has most of the stuff the T already has. Minus the beautiful pearl-white design.

Talking about the price of TR. The introduction of the T-Series might make the TR5 the last TR, in vase it’s discontinued, which I strongly believe! Therefore, I assume it’s price will be raised since you will not be able to get this very special design anymore!
[quote author=“Chris687”]Nice, Well consider us lucky that there’s not another model temping us to open are wallets that are still empty since are last purchase of our TR
Yes! I mean .... ummm .... about that ....

If you think about it, it’s kind of like the Toshiba Libretto. They started with type L1, put out an L2 and L3, skipped L4, and stopped at L5.

No - there are a few oddball large notebooks that have built-in cameras of some sort.
As far as Sony, it’s the C1 (PictureBook), TR, and the GT-series. The C1/TR camera is the little webcam; the GT was more like a laptop built around a video camera 8):

I will propably sell my TR and get the ‘T’ series once they change the chipset and upgrade the video to GMA 900. I never use the webcam and really don’t care how cool my laptop looks. The ‘T’ series is thinner, which is a nice feature. Then there is Bluetooth for those of us afraid to do the mod ourselves.

Yes, there are several others with a built in camera.
Almost all of these do:
As do these:
And there are many many others.

“...notebook” circuitry utilizes Transmeta’s 600mhz Crusoe chip for fast performance and even better battery life: up to 17 hours with the (LLL) cell.”
17 hrs!!??!? btw what is LLL cell? like a big pack battery?
my browser by default opens the japanese sony style page and when I first saw the T, I was extremely surprised about the design. frankly, I was expecting an even hipper version of the TR, with possibly, caddyless drive, an even wider screen, and generally, cooler features altogether; but the T—it certainly looks alot more utilitarian than the tr and the design less inspiring altogether. the lines are cleaner, but for better or for worse, I think, from a stylistic point of view, both the T and TR and incomparable.. and to say one design is better than the other holds no weight as it is very obvious that sony wants to target the T to a wider demographic and more.. conservative user base? The look is definitely generic and inoffensive that it can be carried around the office without making any kind of bold statement on the user’s behalf..
anyhow.. i prefer my tr.. with the retro-scifi typeface for the keyboard.. .. and pearly white Type-Rish paint job.. :D
