I honestly don’t know.  But if you search with google and type in Bluetooth it will give you there site.  Linc gave it to me when I had a question.  I think on there it will telll you.

I’m sure it will be much more than you could ever want!

i recall reading somewhere (forgot where.. ) that up to 8 data devices can be connected in piconet.. and up to 10 piconets can exist within the 10-meter bubble..each piconet supports up to 3 simultaneous full duplex voice devices..

Essentially, MAC addresses. They’re unique to that device. Go into the properites of you BT device in Device Manager and you’ll see it in hex.

Depends what you mean by “link”. Send files and address cards to one another? Yes. Use regular SMB (Windows-style) networking and sharing an internet connection? No.

bluetooth is rated at 1 Mbps under optimal conditions. with error correction overhead and other environmental factors..however the real throughput should be about 700 Kbps to 800 Kbps.

several other factors can influence bluetooth’s speed. the presence of other 2.4-GHz devices, such as an 802.11b WAN, can degrade performance of a bluetooth piconet.

I stand corrected.  :oops: I’ve been playing around with it on my desktop and my TR for the past hour and the process to directly connect with the SP2 stack is quite different. It’s actually very easy to connect to do in SP2, but I haven’t found out how to add the BT connection to a network bridge to let it get on. :?

On Edit: Got SMB over TCP/IP to work but it’s damn slow. Stick to WiFi.

There are so many factors that almost everything effects it…as a joke I said the wind or if someone thousands of miles away sneezes…

There are several ways to “link” two computers, depending on the BT stack (software) that you are using and the combinations of OSs.  Well, if you are using Windows XP and a fairly recent stack, chances are that you already have a PAN profile or network access.  Just enable it and you are in.

Should you be trying to just share you internet connection, you can always use the ICS setup, asuming a windows client.

If you want to share your internet for your PALM device, simply create a null modem to the BT serial port and setup a PPP server (assuming Windows on the server side)

Finally, should your stack not allow for PAN, you can always use “direct connection” and assign the connection to the BT serial ports on each machine… This will give you a slow link (115k) but it should work with any protocol you want.
