[quote author=“tifosiv122”][quote author=“LiteYear”]Intel have announced that Centrino notebooks will now support 802.11g wireless networking.
I suspect this will show up on TR’s soon. So they can get back to sticking their little Centrino stickers everywhere.
Some TRs already have G.
Yeah, but the TRs that have G aren’t Centrino (not that that’s a big deal). It just shows that Intel is finally getting on the ball with the market place. Many of Intel’s customers were pissed because they had to offer 802.11g systems because their customers demanded it. At the same time, they could not market their products as well as Centrino products because Intel gives these companies breaks/incentives (essentially free publicity) if they market Centrino products.
So, this is good for vendors because they can use Intel money to market their products.
It’s good for us customers as well as it’s one less difference between Japanese uber-models and the scrapings that Sony sells in the US (or other deprived markets). Now give us our damn integrated Bluetooth!!!
