[quote author=“dbs”][quote author=“tifosiv122”][quote author=“Drachen”]To paraphrase a line from Fight Club: If A (the settlement) + B (the cost of lawyers) < C (the amount we overcharged customers), it was a good business move. Consumers don’t buy Infineon-branded products so even if the name is soiled, it doesn’t affect consumer purchasing.
Very true…both others named, like Kingston, do.

Kingston wasn’t named in the article. As a matter of interest, this fellow just bought a kinston module and says both the sony and kingston modules have infineon chips.

Those who know the business know whos involved, and it has been published…direct from /.
“Jerrod K writes “Infineon Technologies pleaded guilty to charges of price fixing in an international conspiracy. The Justice Department said this is the third largest antitrust settlement ever. Other memory chip makers involved include Hynix, Samsung, and Micron Technology.” Reader phalse phace adds a link to CNET’s coverage. “
Though Kingston is not named here, they are effected and everyone knows it.
