Im not sure if I should get the TR3 with DVD ROM or the TR5 with DVD RW.

Is the DVD write alot better then CD write?

If you don’t need to write to DVDs I don’t see a reason it would be better or worse.

is there a price difference..? if the difference isn’t that great might as well get the dvd-rw in case you ever want to write to dvds..it may come in handy later on..

You might want to check out the T series coming out next month/

Isn’t there a way to upgrade to the DVD-RW later on?  Therefore allowing you to get the cheaper TR3, and then upgrading later.  Although you might want the extra .1 ghz.  Beyond that I suggest looking at the T-Series coming out soon.

yeah there is. that’s why i said only go for it if the price difference isn’t that great. most people may not want to void their warranty on a brand new machine..

the price difference between the tr5 with dvd-rw and the tr3 with dvd-rom is 500 dollars. the tr5 comes with 1.1ghz and the tr3 is 1.0

the new price for the dvd-rw is almost up there..so you are going to spend about the same if you decide to upgrade later on.

Is the TR your only (main PC)?

I can’t see spending $500 more if your never or might never use it.

true. but as a personal preference..i prefer everything to be pre-installed..so i didn’t have to go through the hassle of researching the part#, price, specifications, etc.. tho its was actually fun to mod the tr..
