Is the increased capacity of the extended life battery worth the extra weight and bulky size?

When I first got my TR I was ready to run right out and get the extended battery. There was a battery thread here at the time. After following it I decided to chill on the extended battery until I had a real need for it or the stock battery performance dropped. I picked up a $50 air/auto travel charger that so far has kept me going fine.
Barring a need beforehand, I figure about a year from purchase the original battery will be getting tired and I’ll start looking for a good deal on a replacement BPT3.

I think the TR is heavy enough…the battery life is good right now, if it dies, i’ll go out and get another standard one…

A year from now I may agree with you. There have been only a few times so far that the battery ran out before I did.
Still, doing school you’re packing it all day, right? Weight makes sense. Mine is over-the-shoulder a very small portion of the time.

Yeah I have 2-3 books that are 1,000+ pages + notebooks + TR…I want as little weight as possible, lol. My classes are 3 hours a day, so the TR can easily last with full brightness using OneNote and Word in the background. Our classroom building is not WiFi because they found grades suffered because people were on AIM and such so my computer can last the entire class…

I also don’t like the xtra bulk out the back that comes with the larger battery.
One other thing thats throwing me of the T series.
Might as well go with the P series if you are in to the black thing….Just like every other notebook out there.
