kinda new to MB and to my TR5.. but I’m loving these forums! (which is what lead me to buy the TR5)

From what it sounds like, hard disk recording can be done with the TR series notebook.  Just ordered Guitar Tracks 3 (want to scratch pad record to my TR) and an Indigo PCMCIA soundcard. 

For various CDs and stuff I’ve played on, I opt to go the engineer + protools route.  Tried learning the ins/outs of HD Recording, but finding a good engineer (with a good ear) proved invaluable for me.

Wadham, any suggestions on soft-synths that would run on the TR?

Haven’t used any soft synths to be honest - I use a JV 1080 but play it live - MIDI tends to wind me up to much.

If you can call Reason a soft synth then I can report that it works extremely well with multiple racks on the go at once!
