I was at my local Fry’s today which is about 30 miles about an hour after the opened.  I did my usual routine checked out the sales ads.  Walked around and played with there toys I mean electronics. 

I unexpectly ran into one of the greatest finds.  I been looking for a stand.  And I thought $30 for the Targus stand even with the 360 degree mobilty.  Just too expensive for my taste for a big piece of plastic.

Another option was the Lapvantage,  I honestly thought this was a great product.  But, even if I did purchase this item I would have to use it with an external keyboard and mouse.

On my desk I need the room.  Well I found the perfect companion that I am typing on right now.  Its made with some non slip type of (black) rubber which fits the TR perfectly. 

I love the ergonmics of the thing.  I have always felt akward typing with the TR on a table or desk.  This has solved my problems. 

It gives about a 8 degree lift and if you keep back like me the monitor hits your eyes right in que.

Pros: 1. 10x better feel of the ergonomics.
      2.  Promotes better air flow, in return keeping your TR cooler.
        3. Very inexpensive
        4. Light weight, great for travel.

Cons: Have none.

Anyways this is must have.

And I give it a 9 out 10

I was close by today so I dropped into Handstands to see if I could take a look at the pad. Some of their other stuff is interesting. The non-slip pads for cellphones, pdas or mp3 players look like they’d really work also the solar auto screens.

I picked up a Cool Lift pad and it works. I’m using it on a couch right now and the TR seems to want to rest behind the front “bumps” rather than on them. This increases the keyboard angle a degree or two, but doesn’t impair typing and the TR is stable. I do like the raised keyboard though.

The pad fits nicely under the TR. Outer dimensions are 10” wide and 8” deep. It’s made from some kind of black semi-rigid foamed polymer which is very light and appears reasonably durable. Oh, and I mentioned it’s black, not Men In Black, black. Just black.

I also tried the pad on my lap. It’s a bit small, but workable and does keep your lap cooler. Given that it’s a tabletop pad, I decided not to try it on one. This really isn’t a review, after all.

I am glad you like it Dbs.  I love mine.  I am using right now on my bed.  If you want it to be more stable in your lap.  Just put it on something flat and stable.  I am using a black notebook

Well, it’s ugly as sin, but it works.

Actually I do like it and it will eventually find a home, likely on or by the couch. The more I use it the more I appreciate the raised keyboard. The nice lady, Barb, who sold it to me told me her husband travels a lot, likes it, and packs it with him. Weight is not an issue.

While not a steal, $9.99 certainly won’t damage anyones budget.

I disagree

1. I don’t think its ugly as hell.  Its underneath the TR and you barely even see it.  All I see is a little black in the front and I think it looks fine.  Its not art are the same color of the TR.  But, thats not what is was made for.

2. Any accesory for or TR under $10 is a steal.  The Targus simliar in design starts around $30 thats 1/3 the price.

But, thats just my opionion

Dunno, seems more or less the $10 equilvalent (plus tax) of propping your TR atop of two paperbacks, minus the entertainment value.  :|
