[quote author=“topbanana”]Here’s a challeng for all you hardware modders…
Sould it be possible to mod the PCMCIA port into a 2nd HD bay… Doubling the HD capacity of out TRs instantly!
I’m assuming that the IDE drive interface obeys all the normal standards and that you could dangle two drives off a ribbon cable as per normal… Master & Slave…
I’ve never opened up the guts of my TR yet, but would it be possible to make a new ribbon cable that feed the existing drive and that then sneaks off thru the guts of the TR into where the PCMCIA card slot is, where a 2nd HD could then be plugged into the cable…
The Disk has a slight problem of being 8mm instead of 5, but could the cavity be modded to accommodated it?? Using a crowbar, run-up, whatever…
Just an idea…
IMO not realistically possible. Besides that the heat will kill you. With enough money you can do anything, but i’d put that money into developing an 80 GB 1.8 drive instead…
